Ed has over 20 years of experience in risk management, auditing, regulatory compliance, financial management and accounting. Ed assists clients in implementing sound risk management programs, including establishing risk appetite levels and establishing or enhancing risk assessments, key risk indicators and risk reporting. Ed also has extensive experience managing financial, operational and compliance audits. He has developed and executed annual, risk-based audit plans and assists clients in implementing and maintaining compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including ongoing coordination with external auditors. He is experienced with SEC reporting and Proxy Statement preparation. He is also experienced with PeopleSoft, Hyperion and other financial management software. He routinely interfaces with clients’ executive management, Board of Directors, and Audit Committees.
Prior to co-founding the Firm, Ed was a Director at a professional services firm, where he assisted various financial service clients with their risk management projects. Within that role, Ed developed various firm-wide methodologies and audit procedures, including SOX scoping and IT Audit Risk Assessment (risk-based; compliant with COBIT 5), in addition to managing the firm’s largest client relationship. Prior to this, Ed was an Assistant Vice President within the Finance department of one of the largest international asset management firms where he was responsible for the accounting and reporting of all compensation expense of the company in accordance with US GAAP. In that position, he successfully consolidated the compensation accounting function and significantly enhanced reporting capabilities. His previous experience includes managing an operational audit area for a multi-line, multi-state insurance company, as well as a financial analyst role where he successfully introduced operational changes that saved the company $1.8 million annually (50%) on the expenditure for two purchased commodities.
